Execution more important than needs of people?

After Ike thousands of people are still without water supply, electricity or even without a home. Huntsville alone has more than 7000 people without energy. And in some areas of Texas the people will have to wait until Monday to have electricity restored.

But last night William Murray got executed in Huntsville. As it seems there are no problems with electricity or other things the inhabitants of this town have to struglle with for the execution team. Business as usual.

I can't help myself but to me this seems like an absurdity and perversion: here comes the state of Texas, not being able to make sure the people's basic needs are being fulfilled but on the other hand having no problems to go on with executions. One really starts to wonder where Texas sets its priorities...
