CEDP (Campaign to End the Death Penalty) works to bring people together to build the movement against the death penalty.
CEDP's Mission Statement:
We're a national grassroots organization committed to building the movement to abolish the death penalty in the United States. Through educational and activism, we build public awareness about the issue and public opposition to the death penalty.
With that said, I am beginning a new chapter of the CEDP here in Albuquerque.
What do chapters do?
To win abolition, we need to build a grassroots struggle. Through education and activism, CEDP chapters actively fight against the death penalty. We believe that those who have experienced the horrors of death row firsthand–death row prisoners themselves and their family members–should be at the forefront of our movement. Their experiences help to shape our strategies.
The NM-Albuquerque Chapter of the CEDP will meet for the first time in July. This meeting is for all people in the community who are interested in getting involved in the struggle.
Please contact me with any suggestions or to get involved in this grassroots movement in New Mexico.
Further information will be sent regarding the date and time of the first meeting of the CEDP in New Mexico.
